The grove marries exquisite modern New Zealand cuisine with a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. Located in the heart of Auckland next to historic Saint Patrick’s Cathedral the décor is warm and intimate and the service professional and friendly. The restaurant also has a wine bar for pre dinner drinks and hand crafted cocktails. For your convenience we now offer valet parking during dinner service.

In what some would call a serendipitous move and what others would just call a coincidence, The Grove has appointed a new chef with name alliteration just like the two previous chefs before him. Michael Meredith, Sid Sarhawat and now introducing Benjamin Bayly.

Benjamin has already experienced an illustrious career, most recently working with Peter Thornley at the new Kermadec and prior to that senior chef roles at Michelin starred restaurants in London and France (The Ledbury & The Square, London: Restaurant Jean-Paul Jennet, France).

"Benjamin is the perfect candidate for the role of head chef. He is young, hungry and has enough experience to give him the confidence to not only carry on the strong tradition of delivering incredible food left by the chefs before him, but to deliver his own unique signature to the menus. We are all looking forward to working together as a team to continue our some kind of wonderful", says MIchael Dearth.
